Жената се разплаква, докато говори пред репортер. Намира се на лодка на брега в турския курорт Мармарис. Малко по-късно ще бъде евакуирана, заедно с други туристи от Великобритания, местни жители и работещи в турски хотели.
В пламъци е не само Мармарис. Гори целият югозападен вилает Мугла, където се намира курортът. През почивните дни евакуират хора и от Мармарис, и от Бодрум. Идват частни лодки, за да ги спасят, докато пламъците пълзят към къщи, хотели и към брега.
Въздухът е плътен, жълто-оранжево-червен. Хората дишат пепелта, в която са се превърнали доскорошните гори, и трудно различават силуетите в гъстия пушек.
Властите се борят с горските пожари от почти седмица. Повече от 120 вече са под контрол, но местни и пристигащи от чужбина пожарникари все още се опитват да надделеят над други 7.
Потвърдена е смъртта на 8 души. Над 150 са пострадали.
Разследващи се опитват да установят дали някои пожари са били подпалени умишлено. Задържан е един човек, заподозрян в подпалвачество.
